About Bankruptcy
Bankruptcy is not always the end of your judgment.
Sometimes:
- Debtors file and are turned down
- Debtors only threaten to file
- Debtors file and never follow thru

- Debtors file and the bankruptcy is granted but they never claimed you as a creditor
- Debtors file and the bankruptcy is granted but they never notified you as a creditor
What we do if a debtor notifies our agency that the debtor has filed bankruptcy:
We check to see:
- If the bankruptcy has been filed and granted
If the bankruptcy was granted and there were no assets, then we are out of luck
If the bankruptcy is not finished (everything happens at a snails pace) we as an agency back off completely and check on the website every two months to keep an eye on the progress.
If the bankruptcy is finished and our debt was discharged then we are out of luck
If the bankruptcy is finished and our debt was not discharged for any reason then we start our enforcement process as we would any other judgment.
It is always our goal to follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
We are not always informed of the debtor’s bankruptcy.
